The world is split up into 6 main regions, the area shown in the demo is the first region of the full-game and acts as the tutorial region of sorts! Once you leave this region the game opens up, allowing you to explore multiple areas at your own pace, in any order you see fit.

Mushrooms will not grow outside their general environment, so you'll need to have access to each of these locations in case they appear.

You don't see too much of this in the demo but there’ll be a lot more aesthetic control too outside the frog ‘decor’ items like the spas and the arches - flooring, decoration, ability to plant and move conterraneo resources etc

In the demo there’s only a few mushrooms just to ease people into the trait modifications, but there's a lot more strange mushrooms to find in the full-game with some challenging modifications to master!

In addition to the location around the map, you'll also need to pay close attention to the heat and moisture in the air at any given time, since this is where mushrooms can get tricky to pin down.

Using the genetic keys of the new species you create you can unlock the paths between the waking and dreaming worlds, explore the land of those still hibernating, and embark on a journey to help restore the lost populations and find out what happened.

Mudborne is being created by ellraiser, one half of the indie-dev studio, TNgineers. A spiritual successor of sorts to APICO, Mudborne instead focuses on genetic manipulation and generational puzzles to create and discover all sorts of frog species, with experimentation being encouraged.

You’ll also have more control over viewing and modifying traits, reverting generations, cloning generations, mass-producing frogspawn/tadpoles - plus plenty of other frog species and variants to find and experiment with.

Use Composters To Encourage Spore Growth If you're not willing to wait for nature to take its course and spawn a few odd mushrooms around the world, you can always use cultivators around the map to grow mushrooms when conditions are right.
